Lip Blush Healing - Step by Step
The lip blush healing process typically takes 4-6 weeks, with the initial stage showing a bold, brighter color that fades to reveal a natural color over time. Swelling, flaking, and color fading are common, and it's crucial to follow aftercare instructions, stay hydrated, protect from sun, and avoid touching or picking at the lips.
First 5 Days:
- Initial Swelling: Lips may appear swollen and bright in color.
- Applying Aftercare: Apply the provided aftercare balm or ointment regularly to keep lips moisturized.
- Avoiding Heat and Irritants: Avoid eating or drinking anything hot or spicy.
- No Picking: Do not pick or rub your lips, as this can damage the tattoo and lead to infection.
- Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your lips gently with a cotton pad and water or a fragrance-free cleanser.
- Avoid Makeup: Refrain from wearing lipstick or other lip makeup.
- Drink with a straw: Drinking with a straw can minimize contact with the lips.
- No Kissing: Avoid kissing until the scabs have fallen off naturally, usually within 5-10 days.
Week 1-2:
- Scabbing and Flaking: You may experience some scabbing and flaking, which is a normal part of the healing process.
- Color May Appear Darker: The initial color may appear darker than the final result.
- Continue Aftercare: Continue to apply the aftercare balm and avoid picking at the skin.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your lips hydrated.
Week 3-4:
- Color Settling: The color will start to settle and become more natural.
- Full Healing: The outer layer of skin should be fully healed, but the underlying tissue may take longer to fully recover.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your lips from the sun with sunscreen.
- Gentle Exfoliation: You can start gently exfoliating the surrounding skin.
Week 5-6:
- Final Results: The lip blush tattoo is fully healed, and you can see the final results.
- Maintain Hydration: Continue to hydrate your lips with the aftercare balm.
- Sun Protection: Continue to use sunscreen on your lips to prevent premature fading.
Keep in mind:
- Follow your technician's instructions: Your tattoo artist will provide specific aftercare instructions that you should follow carefully.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Refrain from using harsh chemicals or scrubs on your lips.
- Be patient: Healing takes time, and you may not see the final results for several weeks.
- If you experience any concerning symptoms, contact a doctor: This includes excessive pain, swelling, redness, or signs of infection.
Lip Blush Aftercare
- Don't touch!
Do not touch the treated area with dirty fingers. Remember: it's an open wound. Avoid picking scabs, since it can cause scarring, spots or infection. Avoid make-up in the first 3 days.
- No tanning or swimming!
Do not swim or use saunas during the treatment. Avoid UV rays (Sun or tanning beds). Apply sunscreen in the area once it's fully healed.
- Avoid harsh treatments!
Avoid harsh cosmetics on the treated area for at least 15 days. You can get chemical treatments (peelings, lasers) once it's fully healed, but avoid if you can, since it could promote faster fading.
- Clean, moisturize, repeat!
You can wash the area after 24h of your session. Moisturize with provided care at least 3 times a day, more if you can. Avoid excessive sweat in the first 48h. Keep it hydrated!
